NOTICE

National Grid is embarking on a significant project to upgrade our electricity network in our area to improve reliability and make it easier to interconnect and transmit the growing number of renewable energy sources in the region.  The entire statewide transmission upgrade timeframe is aggressive—7-8 years.

  • As part of the process to gain state approval for our projects, we also must explore alternate routes for our work, in case our existing routes present meaningful property issues, including the presence of property improvements (ex: sheds, barns, pools, etc.), including homes.
  • In the coming weeks National Grid will begin outreach to landowners in the region, who own property along some potential alternate routes.  The process to landowners includes an initial contact by National Grid, followed by contact from our real estate representatives asking for access permission and subsequent survey work, if appropriate.
